It would have to be pretty special for me to pay more than 2100 for that. It depends which one you want, the '00 onwards ones are fine and you should get a low miler for under £1700. Later versions aren't a huge improvement really. Even the USD forks are pretty much cosmetic. ____________________ Triumph Daytona 675 track bike + girlfriend's Honda Hornet 600

I was actually thinking of selling my hornet 600 soon. It's an '03 plate, 32,000 miles with 10 months tax and about 5 for MOT. Always sailed through, proper solid bikes.
Was thinking of advertising at £1750 but would probably take £1600 and be happy with that!

I bought mine from a friend for £1200. 1999 T-reg with 16k miles, Micron carbon fibre race exhaust, Fly screen, Crash bungs, Fender extender & rear hugger. But a horribly squared rear tyre. It was also an insurance write off at some point in the past, but I think it was mostly cosmetic... probably dented tank, maybe bent bars but no frame damage.
I've since got the valve clearances done, had the bike dyno jetted, renthal bars & heated grips. Smaller front sprocket & new rear sprocket & chain, new wheel bearings and 2 new tyres. Spent much more on all that than I did on the bike itself, but I'm glad I did because it has made it so much quicker, power is much more usable, handling is vastly improved. So easy to ride fast, but effortless to ride slower.
I have no intention of selling it, might possibly keep it forever, but if I was selling it this year, I wouldn't take less than £1500 for it. I think £1750 would be my advertised price if I was selling. Don't think that's unreasonable considering what an improvement it is over the standard bike. |
