Schuberth C3 SRC

Evening BCF,

Hopefully a quick question, I'm looking at getting the SRC for my Schuberth. Does anyone on here have one or used one before?

It's a lot of money (around £300 from what I've seen online), and don't want to get it if its crap.

On a side note, I've seen them on eBay for around £200, would I need to pay import/duty on it? It's coming from Italy.

Folks on advrider talk about it. I think it's overpriced, but if you have the money, you won't get a better integrated system for the helmet.

I have my old Q2 headset attached to my C3, with a 3M velcro fastener, so that it's easily removable (the clamp approach of the Q2 doesn't work very well, and would interfere with the sun visor, while the glue pad is slightly too permanent; I stuck the velcro to the glue pad).

The nice thing about Cardo Scala Q2, G4 etc. is that you can bring them along as you move from one helmet to the next. Bear in mind that a helmet isn't going to last you forever, especially if you crash, and the C3 is an expensive helmet to replace like for like, even if you can avail of Schuberth's post-crash discount deal.

Autocom / Starcom etc. are even more flexible and potentially long-lived, but an expensive initial outlay. But if I was spending the big bucks, I'd go for them instead, and combine with custom molded sound-reducing earphones and a separate mic. That's with all-day touring use case in mind.

If you just want the convenience of bluetooth, there are much cheaper ways of getting it, starting with bluetooth receivers.
