How on earth do you get over being scared?

I'm only getting about 4ft of air at the moment and I'm terrified of going any faster. I know what to do, how to control the jump, I just darent go any faster.

I'm not scared of dropping the bike, it gets thrown about doing hillclimbs etc.

I'm not scared of hurting myself, I wear all the right gear.

I just don't know how to get over being scared of going faster.

I used to have to same problem dirt jumping on my bicycle, i got over the fear by practicing as much as i could and just concentrating on doing the jumps as well as i could. Eventually i got enough balls to do the 20ft+ jumps and do tricks at the same time.
