Limited tyre choice on original size wheels, rec / reg known for cooking. Panels difficult to source either chinky special or big bucks for tyga chav panels or tyga immitation standard ones, plus paint. Forks and shock will probably need sorting if both standard. Fuel line and vac hose can split / fail with age. Getting on a bit and not all previous owners might have been mechanically sympathetic nor kept on top of maint' and oil / filter changes. Check chain adjuster condition for signs of 'tard previous owners.
Get a good un and they are still cracking wee bikes. |

For everything you need to know about 400s take a peek in the 400 greybike forum. |

Not seen this mentioned on 400GB but it happened on my NC35, so I'll share. It's kind of important.
The fuel line t-pieces and seals which sit between the carbs wear with age and are prone to leaking or cracking. They are only held together by the force of the two long pins that bolt the carb bank together, so make sure these are tight.
Also be careful not to twist the carb bank if you remove it, as this will put pressure on the lips of the seals and may cause them to fail.
Fortunately for me, one of mine decided to let go whilst I was testing the engine after doing the valves and was feeding the bike from a funnel, so only the contents of that were dumped over the engine, and I had a CO2 extinguisher handy.
Obviously if this happens when you're riding it the consequences could be disastrous.
