Dont get yourself worried, you've done it before and passed, you can easily do it again.
Just get the up to date high code book and you'll be sorted.

I have been driving since 1984 (several life times ago) and you didn't have any of this computer stuff back then, so I was bricking it. But I just quickly read through the highway code again and the looked at the DSA's web site for the hazard perception test to see what that was all about (as I didn't have a clue). But you already know what to do for that, so just brush up on the high way code and you'll walk it.

Have you got the latest DVD rom thingy? You can get them on amazon - theory test for bikes, hazard perception for bikes. Get the latest cos they do seem to change. That's what I did. Course, I did taste the salty tang of tears in my throat as I went through check out - but there's always a bit of pain shelling out for this kind of shit innit.

Yeah apparently it does. I personally wouldn't do that though. Just click when you see dodgy crap innit. Get the dvd dude.

They do detect click abuse now. The trick these days is apparently to click when you see the hazard, and click again about a second later. That way, you're not clicking enough for it to count as abuse, but you are allowing for the software not flagging the hazard until its more developed.

Mock theory test and it give you like the DVLA 56 minutes to complete the questionnaire

https://www.monkey.co.uk/driving-theory-test/

I got the theory book and read the questions and immediately looked at the correspond answer rather than looking at the possible answers, and that way I would match the answer to the question - I read the book a few times that way and passed with an extremely high mark, except now you've got the video part to deal with for hazard awareness!

Most of all study the braking distance and over braking distance because you will need to memorise it for future reference!

Multiple Choice Test

Before the test starts you will find instructions on how to use the computer. Don't worry you can choose to do a 15 minute practise run of the multiple choice questions so you can get used to how it works. After this the actual test will start.

In total 57 minutes are allowed for the test and you will need to get at least 43 out of 50 correct to pass the test.
After the multiple choice part you can choose to have a break of up to three minutes before the hazard perception part starts.

Hazard Perception Test

The Hazard perception test is made up of 14 video clips in which 15 hazards must be identified. The earlier the hazard is identified the more marks will be scored. The most that can be scored for each developing hazard is five points. To pass this part of the test you will need to get at least 44 out of 75 correct.

Tip: Remember to get a high score you need to:
Respond to the developing hazard during the early part of its development click the mouse button as soon as you see a hazard developing

You can get a DVD in most supermarkets. I would recommend getting one and practicing the hazard perception. It assumes that you're a trembling learner, you'll benefit from learning where they expect you to see the hazard.

I did "click-elephant-click-elephant-click" and passed fine. It doesn't matter how well you do, it's just pass or fail, so really don't sweat it.

Passed my car theory (first) fine, no problems.

Passed my motorbike theory (afterwards), with a failed clip as I (apparently) clicked too much.

That's what happens when you've been out on the road more, more hazards are spotted than what they think you should be looking for Rolling Eyes

this is my worry, to me a car coming towards you is a potential hazard, as is someone walking down the road...parked cars etc

Exactly. That was the issue I had, so it seemed.

Can't offer that much advice on it to be honest, other than try the disk at home and work out how it's meant to be! The Hazard Perception has always been a bit hit-and-miss in my mind.

Just click whenever you see something you'd consider a hazard in real life, as the main hazard develops click your way through it. You really have to seriously overdo it to be considered cheating.

Its pretty easy so don't worry to much, just do what the others have said, when you see a developing hazard, click then wait a second and click again, they are usually pretty obvious.

Did my theory today and passed. Was bricking it too but was fine in the end. If you have been driving a while it will surprise you how much you already know. Some good advice on the other replies though, revising may take the edge off your nerves. Good luck Very Happy

You can do the dvla site questions Abd basically memorise the answers as there all the same as in the actual test (where when I did it anyway )

Hazard perception you should be able to practise online or just sort of blag it, it's really easy to be honest There's so many hazards in the videos

Learn all the questions and then that bit's covered. Then the only stumbling block is the hazard perception test. It isn't a test in spotting hazards, it's a test in knowing how to operate the software.

FWIW I booked my theory test on a Thursday, put the effort in over the weekend and aced it the following Tuesday. If you want to pass you will.

You can get practice test apps for mobiles. I got one for both parts of the test, spent every spare second of the week before practicing on my phone and passed on the first try. Only cost me about £2 IIRC.

I failked mine first time as I was too cocky after thirty years driving. Second time round I used a free smart phone app and just played with it for a few evenings before the test, which I passed easy enough.
