Well today I picked the new bike up and initial thoughts were impressive. Seems a lot more agile than the Firestorm even though they are around the same weight. The sitting upright will take some getting used to but it was seriously comfortable.

Clangs do I look like a yellow bike person?

I was surprised. The reports from the BCF masses said they are boring, bland, but a reliable workhorse.

It took a little getting used to the different position than the old bike. Much more upright. The power was nice and smooth. I sat at slow moving motorway traffic in 6th at 30mph and when it cleared I pulled pretty sharpish to 70 without trying.

Need to break the engine in and then give it a good test.

If that's at least as good as my FZ6, I'm sure you'll be very happy!

Detuned engine than the FZ6 but she's agile and nippy enough for me. The Storm was a great bike but for town riding, which I do mostly, it wasnt practical or sensible. This seemed to be a lot of fun riding around town which as we all know is boring at the best of time.

Andy, I had already put the deposit down before that post. Took 8 days from deposit to pick up.

Almost got one of these, but opted for a FZ6. They're nice bikes though and believe they're marketed Stateside as FZ6R's? Enjoy!

A nice new bike that looks 80% as nice as an FZ6, but without some of the extra nice features of the FZ.

If your Storm had race cans and re-jetting to suit, I think your going to really miss it for the sound more than anything! Those 48mm Carbs coupled with open exhausts certainly gave them some bloody character and upset a few car alarms too! Laughing

Stevo. The Storm was standard. Nothing done to the engine, OEM cans on it. I will miss the storm I am not getting rid of her because I dont want to keep her. Shes going because I am getting too old, its uncomfortable to ride around town and I do not get the riding out of her she diserves. Already this thing beats it hands down for turning circle and town riding. Was out today and it was great. I had to stop myself turning into a side street at 30mph. It was a 90 degree turn and I have new tyres!

What's all this 'she' bollocks about?

Anyway, very shiny. I can't believe they're still lobbing new bikes out the door with 021's on though. Infact, if you want a spare front, I've got a practically new one you're welcome to.
