How am I still alive?

Needless to say, Kittens got killed, police turned up and saved the day by fining me 60 cats eyes. This counteracted the death-toll apparently.

I'n all fairness though, got off lightly....

Clever. Rolling Eyes

A nice bit of roadstone or even a fly hitting your eye at that speed would more than likely see you blinded.

Theyre your eyes though...fill your boots.

Good point about the eyes, wouldn't of done it on a completely naked bike, had a little shield to crouch behind so was well out of the wind-blast.

First time I've ever ridden without a helmet... and my last.

Was immensely dangerous....

Also, bullshit to James May riding through London without getting stopped once... I didn't get 5 minutes down the road..

I Knew someone done a sim thing before a house mate went psycho and tried kicking the R6 over and tried nicking it etc etc, so when they got on the back and wouldn't move the pillion and rider road at almost 80mph down the pavement! Shocked with no helmets and she wasn't scared.

Rest to say they never did that again and they were very young and stupid.

How far did you go?

Surely...not on a motorway? I can't fathom how you'd get half a mile before a policeman saw you and flicked on the sirensong.

Also...why?

Do you usually see a copper every half a mile? I did 250 miles this weekend, not sure I saw a single cop car.

Makes no difference naked bike or not.. My bike is fully faired and helmet looks like that after I ride it for about an hour..

Some flies are big and juicy. Oh and when they hit my neck it really hurts Neutral

They got on bike and she wouldn't get off it. so to scare them, he took her down the pavement at 80 with no helmets. She didn't care.

I go 5 each way and regularly see at least 1 or 2.

I nearly rode helmetless from the dentist after having yet more work done, as the compression on the cheeks was hurting me.

But I didn't.

If I had, it could have been a cool story bro.

£60, non endorsable, right? Amortise that over a riding career, it's a sound investment for the memories. Thumbs Up

What happened after the tug? Did they try to stop you riding off, and if so under threat of what?

I rode around a car park with no lid once.

The noise of the engine was immense and i hated it for that reason alone.

60 non-endorsable is correct.

Laughing cheers Roger. I don't want to encourage anyone to do the same.. but it was one of the most insane experiences ever.. I had cars following closely behind as I was driving slightly less than the speed limit on 30 roads as it felt so fast already without a lid!!

Also, it's only a commuter twin, but the sound of the engine going to work was amazing, Imagen a hornets nest.. then hitting said hornets nest with a baseball bat!

luckily It was very close to home and downhill so I could push it.. they drove off but I kept spotting them on the way back so I guess they was waiting to see if they could book me twice! or something.

Always wondered what the deal is after you have been caught once, can they keep just doing you again and again if you ride home like that?

To be honest I love the contradictory in the posts of people who wouldn't wear a helmet if the law was repealed to those who wouldn't wear open faced helmets.

Repealed helmet law
