It has come to our attention that another business has bought at least two of our domain names to direct traffic away from Ridelimousin.

If you are interested in touring with us, please look no further than ridelimousin.com. The domain names ridelimousin.eu and ridelimousin.co.uk do NOT belong to us and will redirect you to a completely different business named Riders Rest.

You can confirm that the owner of Riders Rest, Tony Lang, has bought our domain names by looking at https://www.eurid.eu/en/whois-search and https://www.whoischeck.co.uk/

Any confusion, PM or visit us at ridelimousin.COM

This is borderline spam tbh!

However Ridersrest does actually post on here too! He's written a lot of tour reports too!

Not really. RideLimousin's posts regarding his business have had admin approval.

As for a competitor buying up ridelimousin.eu and ridelimousin.co.uk it's a bit of a low trick to play :/

Hi fatpies, did you read my previous post carefully?

Can you explain how my post is spam?

Thanks.

It's hardly spam - there is a legitimate post in the touring section advertising this business!

What a dirty business tactic that is? Not really in the spirit of being a biker is it?

I wonder if there are legal ramifications for doing this? I'm pretty sure it is an offence to deliberately register domain names of another business' given name...

It is a very foolish thing to do in light of these circumstances, as I'm sure anyone reading this would be put off booking a tour with RidersRest now - I certainly would be!

have they been 'poached' or were they up for renewal?

if the former then you have grounds for complaint from whoever sold and registered them on behalf of the buyer.

It is indeed an offence to do this. If you pay legal fees you can get the domains taken away from the other party.

According to the WHOIS output they've been registered by 'A Lang' through 123 reg.

Not sure who A Lang is, is this the Riders Rest owner?

Based on the redirection behavior, it would seem that the owner of RidersRest has simply registered them himself through the domain name supplier in order to direct business his way...

Yes, A Lang, or Anthony/Tony Lang is the owner of Ridersrest. As mentioned above I believe he posts in here occasionally.

So are you going to fight him? The Cheeky Cnut.

I don't like sneaky bastarts like him. If I ever need that sort of service I will not use those arse-holes.

Hi Walloper, I am currently looking into what legal action we can take.

Hey....saw this link on facebook and had to comment.

We run Jdk tours, a newly formed company, offering fully guided motorcycle tours from England to France.....The Bloody exact same thing happened to us!...by the same bloke!!!

The domain name was bought and directed to a video blog site.

The sad part of our story is that, I had been a customer of Riders rest in the past, seems that even though I knew him, didn't make any difference.

I have my solicitor looking into my complaint.
He has been informed of our legal findings, and has now redirected all traffic back to our homepage

Hi stig, this thread is not about how good or bad ridersrest is as a touring holiday company. It is to warn people that some domains in my companies name have been purchased and riders rest is using them to direct traffic to his own website.

Nobody said they were bad to visit but the domains thing is a shitty path to go down and I wouldn't go there and support someone who uses low down snide tricks to get custom away from a fellow hotelier / biker.

Black hat seo trick, dishonest way to make a short gain that does more damage in the long run.

Hope you get it sorted, sounds like he's trying to form some sort of domain monopoly Laughing

Can we not boost "Riders Rest" up the Google ratings in the traditional BCF style?

It is what it is. You should've secured them yourself.

It is like using competitor's keywords in one's own Google Adwords. It is the way of the web.

Frankly, if Riders Rest are out-smarting you it is no one's issue but yours. As long as they are not masquerading as you and merely have a redirect I don't see the problem nor the need for your OP. Clearly your advertising is not working as well as it should.

I've had my .co.uk for almost 10 years but had to wait several years for the .com to become available... hey ho.
