Probably serves me right for a being a bloody cheapskate. But I bought a second paddock stand as I seem to have something permanently on the other one.

So I bought a cheapo Biketek red thing for 20-ish quid delivered. Seemed OK. Good few people have used them apparently without bother. It supported a Skyjet I had a little while ago when I was sorting a few bits prior to flogging it. Today, however, with a KMX125 up to replace the chain and sprockets, one side of the thing suddenly twisted and I nearly did myself permanent damage stopping the bike going over on its side.

Now, however, the KMX sitting on its swingarm and I'm wondering how the buggery I'm going to get the back wheel back on Shocked No way of getting it on the better stand, that I can fathom. The other half inexplicably avoids getting covered in oil and acting as might assistant and I'm trying not to ask anyone else to come and help me and I'd feel like a bit of a tit (though clearly I am a bit of a tit Laughing ).

Beware these cheap stands. This one is pretty flimsy - the KMX is hardly heavyweight.

I dislike any of the 'bolt together' stands.

They flex too much and cause this sort of thing to happen.

+1 for the Harris rear stand i have.

What is the name of the stand that lifts the bike up by the triple tree?

Yeah, my main stand is a Harris and I've given it relentless use for years with no bother at all. Just seemed a bit of an extravagance buying a second one. Wish I had though as I can't work out how the hell I'm getting the KMX back up off the deck single handed.

It's a bit brutal but I may have to use breeze blocks. Lift bike, slide one under frame with boot. Repeat two or three times.

You mean ones that lift through the bottom of the yoke?

Just a different type of front paddock stand. There's more than one maker of them.

How many more before you tighten the bolts like a man, rather then a 5 year old girl?

I have one of the cheap bolt together font stands and it's never flexed, those bolts are done up to FT, proper engineering term that Laughing

I got the rear one of those. managed to lift the Storm up and leave it up for a whole day while I argued with the rear brake disk. No problems even with my kackhandedness.

I bought two stands from Aldi`s . £19.99 each Thumbs Up
You would have to put one mother-fuker bike on them to get them to bend or flex.
And they`re adjustable Thumbs Up

ABBA stands FTW Thumbs Up

You could lay the bike on its side to get the wheel and spindle back in.

Yep, that's what happened to mine when I put some serious torque on the nuts.

I live in Gillingham. Fortunately I've managed to get the KMX propped up with the help of the bodybuilder guy from over the way (he was in his element - and could lift the entire bike off the deck with little effort Shocked ).

I had a KMX200 for a while about 18 years ago - very good fun it was too. But one KMX at a time as more than enough for me (this one is giving me all manner of bloody headaches, even when paddock stands aren't collapsing Laughing ).

I have one of these cheap red paddock stands, cost me £15, got it a while back for my 125, used it on the hornet at the weekend and it holds it just fine.

Just tighten those bolts up as much as you can to stop it flexing Thumbs Up

My Oxford (yes, I know..) paddock stand from Hein Gericke has never given me any trouble in 4 years, with my Hornet on it - thank goodness!

Smaller bikes can often be worse as it means the arms have to be out further so there's more torque applied to them, despite a light weight.

And yes, weld up the joints on the cheap stands and they shouldn't be too bad.

But, for a dirt bike, I'd just go for a proper mx style stand, or a plastic crate etc.

To get the wheel on, you could lay it on it's side, or place stand to the side and lift it on it? Should be easy enough to lift I'd have thought.

Same stands. Noticed a random wheel on the ground after using it last, the circlip holding it on had snapped.
