Anyone used them? I keep idly toying with the idea of not enriching Barclays with my hard(ish)-earned cash and going somewhere else.

My affairs are modest (an unused overdraft facility is about it), all I ask for is decent internet banking with fastpay (which Barclays does very well, I must admit) and the facility to attach a savings account/pot to the current account.

Any suggestions? Open to alternatives, not adverse to banking with a credit union or a real building society provided they know how the internet works.

Change as and when. It takes less than 10 minutes filling in a form to open an account and probably another 10 if you have to switch over some DD's/SO's.

I have about seven current accounts. One gives 5% interest, one gives 4% interest, two pay me five quid a month... I spend about 15 mins a month on upkeep and come out with easily 20 quid.

There's nothing to lose and plenty to gain.

Often banks bring up offers if you switch to them as well. Santander, Halifax and First Direct have all had £100 offers. I've burned through them all now so couldn't tell you who has one running at present.

With Nationwide at present you can get 5% interest (4% after basic tax) on up to £2500 in a current account so you don't even need an 'attached' savings account.
