 |
|
Prices seem to have increased since last year. Last August it was £50 return on a ferry for the girlfriend and me. We trotted over to Brittany which was absolutely gorgeous - fantastic, beautiful little holiday.
This time around I want to blast down the autoroute to the South of France. Thinking of spending a week in Marseille or maybe a little further over - somewhere around Nice.
It's nice sticking to 100mph which turns the trip into a 2 day stint as we like to stop off somewhere en route to chill, see something new etc...
Anyone have any ferry ideas? And does anyone else do this trip and stop off half way somewhere S of Paris and maybe have a recommendation? ____________________ FZR400 (blown engine), ZXR750 (blown engine), ZX6R (accident), CBR600 which had engine issues after which I learned to change gear..., CBR900, CBR924 (stolen), CB600, CB1300 (everything blew up), BMW K1300GT (written off, hit from rear while stationary), Bandit 1250 for a couple of months, Triumph Sprint ST 1050 (nicked) and somewhere in there, I wrote off a Ducati 748 at Cadwell. |

Last year I paid £50 return on a ferry and I genuinely prefer the ferry. Usually I use the ferry time to sleep and drink a bit of water, maybe grab a bite to eat. The sleeping bit is particularly important to me on a long trip - less chance of an accident.
However, I'm OK with a bit more cash because everything is going up in price and I just have to accept it. |

You can get a single crossing on the ferry for £14 if you look on the net. Got one last month on the old Sea France line. DFS do £14 ticket's as well.

That'll be a short stay though.
I don't get it. I understand he peak rate price differences but why is it £24 for a return trip for up to 48hrs but longer than that it's doubled, stay a week or more and it's tripled.
You'd think with half empty trains leaving the stations they might think about not stitching people up just because they want to have a holiday in France.
If i'm going to go out for for more than a couple of days i'll get on a ferry and save a few pennies. |
Bizarrely, I worked on the initial financing of the d@mn tunnel and I have absolutely no idea myself!!! |
