I have some old deore LX brakes and the disc is an RT62 I believe.

This are discontinued and although there are still some on ebay I want to try to make the brake as good as I can without replacing everything. They are dual control so the lever do the braking and gear changing so replacing one would mean replacing the other.

So Im thinking ill just get a new front disc, either 180mm or 203mm, and some new pads and hopefully that will be better.
But I cant seem to find any sort of compatibility reference for other discs.
Im looking on CRC and theres an RT98 which looks good. But I cant find anywhere that says its suitable.

Can anyone help me out. Otherwise its a case of buying and seeing what does and doesnt work.

cheers

shimano discs are interchangeable, there are some entry level ones that are marked resin pad only but you want the ice tech ones for best braking, the rt86 on crc would be perfect for 6 bolt or rt81 for centrelock.
a bigger rotor gives more power, just remember you will need a different mount as well.
shimano pads are a good combo of price and power, of the cheap ones uberbrake sintered are not bad.
