First of all I would just like to say hello to everyone as this is my first post on the forum. I have recently passed my CBT after 4 years
off the road. And have purchased myself a little run around. Very Happy

This may seem like a stupid question but does anyone know if a carburetor from a honda CG125 (4 stroke) fit onto and work with my honda h100 (2 stroke). I know based on looking at them they look similar but I know thats not how it work.

Thanks for the quick response, I did think this was the case. As I haven't tinkered with bikes for a long time thought I would double check before I do damage to my bike. Laughing

I think the accelerator pump fitted to the CG carb would upset things if the CG's carb was used on a 2stroke.

If you need a new carb, then it is best really to source another carb that was from a 2stroke bike if you can't get the OE carb.

In theory on a simple roundslide carb that has no accelerator pump, is the carb body itself should be perfectly compatible between 2 and 4stroke engines, it's normally only the jets, emulsion tubes and the air bleed circuits that are different. But carb experts do say that if you change the internals to suit, any carb should be usable on a 2 or 4stroke engine, and it's a myth that a particular carb can only work on either a 2stroke or 4stroke but not both.
