Hi

I went to start my bike earlier and had problems.
I turned the key to on and pressed the start button (with clutch in). The bike lost all electric completely and made one tick noise.
I have noticed that if I leave it for a few minutes the ignition lights start dim then suddenly come back on but if I try and do anything e.g turn lights on. It looses all electrics again!

I have checked its got an earth and it seems fine.

The bike is a Suzuki Bandit 600 (1999)

Any help much appreciated.

My bike is stuck at work, does anyone know if the AA cover motorbikes on the standard cover?

Cheers

Mark

Not sure what you mean by standard cover but I think they do if you get it for the bike specifically. My experience with the RAC is they're not really equipped to do anything with a bike.

I had a chain give way on the A13 coming home the other week, they ended up sending out a 9 ton truck to collect me.

Check your battery as well, if you know that works you can rule it out as the problem.

Cheers, sorry I meant standard aa car cover.

I think it could be battery but not 100% sure. As I checked it with a volt meter and it was returning the correct voltage but when I hooked it up to my mates charger optimiser it looked like it had some sort of issue as it was taking ages to run the test.

Its a bit strange that it looks like it is all fine until I turn the lights on or attempt to start it. It sort of shuts down, really weird.

Cheers

Mark
