Going to have a look at one next weekend, mates neighbour is selling it. Comes with supermoto & off road wheels.

It will be a second bike so the servicing being in hours isn't a huge deal. It should work out to an oil change every 500 - 600 miles on the road from what I've read.

He wants £2,200 for it but I don't know the year of mileage/hours yet. What sort of price do they usually go for?

I saw a KTM 660 SMC locally as well but I never knew those things didn't have an ignition and were kick start only. Plus they want £3,100 for it and don't even know the true mileage but does look very clean.

Seen a few within 20 miles go for around 2k. Seem to command a higher price at the minute elsewhere though.

I'd probably pay that for it sub 5000 miles.

Ended up going for it.

£2,200
'52 plate
115 hours

Both set of wheels with some nice sticky tires on as well. Only downsides are no tax or test and the front brake is just a 2 pot brembo from the off road wheels I think? Got a few other bits and bobs with it as well, locks and stuff, the usual I seem to acquire from bike sales these days Razz

The two pot is pretty capable on a 320mm disc with what should be a fairly light weight - never had a problem on my fairly-similar FE501.

Good idea G, would be a lot cheaper than getting a 4 potter. Would need a bracket made though?

Had a bit of a mission getting it home. PO said it had half a tank and I didn't confirm it for some reason. Had a nice 2 mile walk pushing the bike...!

I do like the speedos on these, look quite fancy for a 2002 bike. Wish I knew how to use the fecker though.

The bracket is very standard and should be easy enough to come by - the same bracket could be used on my CCM, KTM and Husaberg, with both pre 2003 and post 2002 KTM wheel spindles etc - so should be plenty around.
Annoyingly, they changed it very slightly for the 690, so you can't swap around. (690 enduro is 300 mm disc as standard, so I just left that on for the SM wheels.)

Looks the same as mine, are they defo 4 potters? Thinking What's the black cable hanging off? Speedo? Also what size is the disc?

Do you have a steering lock with your bike? I discovered mine has one but I never got a key... disc lock is more effective anyway, one kick and they snap. I would never leave the bike in public anyway but would be nice to be able to run in a shop for a few mins.

yeah they mini 4 potters i have another one witch is bigger but still a 4 pot, cable is for a Vapor speedo, disk i think is 310mm and yeah have steering lock but with no key, have no keys at all with his bike. i couldnt fit a disk lock on my front because the disk is to close to the rim so cant fit a lock arround it so mine goes on the back.

Thumbs Up

Mine has the stock speedo unit on, it's quite good, only thing missing is RPM but has everything else.

I guess I'll be after a 310 disk and the bracket then and I'll be sorted. Also got issues with brake switches but hopefully it's an easy fix, think it's the rear one thats faulty as front looks fine.

quick pic to show the size of calipers,

https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8138/9009388151_c25c03ef35_b.jpg

i got a lot on mine that dont work, electric start broke, headlight broke, rear light dont work (brake light does) RPM on speedo dont work, atm my clutch also dont work Thumbs Up but the amount of fun the bike brings makes up for that, like i said loads of little jobs, engine is sweet as a nut, gear box is great.

Just take the light off, it's only 2 6mm bolts, check the bulb. Mine was caked in mud, not sure how it got in there. Cleaned it up then it started working again but one of the brake switches is dodgy so brake light sticks on I think.

Engine and gear box on mine are good as well. Not as much broken as yours haha
