Into the throttle valve. Take the top off the carb. ____________________ Yamaha MT-03 '08 (crashed)

as for the cable, I've owned an sj125-23, awful bikes for throttle cables, I went through 3 in 6 months. The electrics also went one rainy night 35 miles out from home at 3am, no lights what so ever, I found water in the tube surrounding the main set of wires from the headlight to the rest of the loom.
If i remember correctly, the cable split into two, one cable connected to the top of the carb, and the other cable connected to this black wheel next to it that was sprint loaded, I assume to help draw the throttle back so it wouldn't stick.
My opinion, get him to sell it, they are junk, I sold mine and 2 months later the lad who bought it over tightened the chain, and the rear sprocket ripped the bolts out of the wheel hub, and the throttle cable snapped at the throttle end, bike was 1.5 years old at the time.
He ended up selling it for scrap when he found out how much it would cost to repair, £16 was what he got for it. ____________________ Two wheels are all I need. |

Thanks everyone.
Linux...I think you're right, we'll get it going and then try to sell it.
Rogerborg...he thought that it went in there as well, but when he took the cap off, there was already a cable in there!
The cable that is hanging is definitely attached to the throttle somehow, as when you turn the throttle itself, the cable moves
Oh well, we've phoned a bike mechanic to come round in the morning to have a look at it, because not only have we got this conundrum, the damn thing seems to have seized up and wont even kick start to tick over now! |

Ye that second cable is connected to a black wheel shaped thing that turns and has a spring on it, I cant remember the terminology, but its so the throttle cable snaps back when you let go.

It's not crucial, but it reduces the chances of your carb sticking open at speed.
Good luck with it. ____________________ Two wheels are all I need. |

Cheers, Linux. He's had a look at the picture, but says there's nothing like that part on the side of the carb, so maybe it's dropped off! When the bike mechanic came round, he couldn't find anywhere to put it either.
However, the good news is (hopefully) that we've gone and bought a Yamaha YBR125 now to replace it, so will just try to sell the Skyjet as a spare or repair
Anyone want to buy a bike? |
