Hi there drained the gear oil out of my 2 stroke 125 today and it was a dark shade of purple. Have my crank deals gone? I'm fitting a new piston and rings soon so would like to know this before I take the top end off I don't think they are gone just maybe ATF fluid which changes coloue

If the seals are gone the oil will stink of petrol.

I thought this but forgot to check I left the bike at the garage I won't be there for a week or so now so may be able to get someone else to smell it
