I reckon G or Dusty should take him on.... worse comes to worse, they go £250 each so lose £250 each, but they could have a nice blade between them to sell and get a couple of grand each Razz

dooo ittt..

After he beats all the wannabies at £500 each, he could buy a new blade anyway. Not saying that guys on here are wannabies, i wouldnt know.. but he wouldnt gamble if he didnt have "some" skill. Sounds to me like hes probably on a good deal, spent 30yrs goin round brands hatch, or raced before and after some fast cash.

The other problem is that they have never done Brands before. Maybe they should challenge him at cadwell! Very Happy

A blade will pretty much beat any bike shot of an R1 (or tuned ZX9R Wink that doesn't drop out of second... ) around Brands because its quite long and flowing.

I think challenging him to Cadwell would be a better bet! Very Happy

Also, what happens if more than one person beats him? do they fight over the blade? does he still get the £500? There's something fishy about that... Thinking

Aye but I mean g and dusty halve the money and decide which ones better and more likely to win, then they get to split the profit... that's what i meant.. it'd be an "investment" for one or the other LOL

Hes obviously gonna be a bloody good rider...

Let someone else have a go first (some random idiot will take him on). Get his time, if you can go round quicker give it a shot. But it is 500 quid...

And hes putting a £XXXX. blade on the line, so that must tell you something...

I also suppose that his blade could be a Cat A write off or something... or stolen etc... so £500 would be pretty good for him!

Confused definitely something fishy there... Thinking

{edit} There's nothing to stop him from saying "Brands hatch Indy" If you're on an R1, or "Brands hatch GP" If you're on an RS250!{edit}

You only have to give him the £500 if you loose.

i suggest someone with a nice bit of kit and some expirence, go to brands that day (clearly a track day). pay for the track day, have some fun, size the guy up, perhaps watch him race someone else. then give him a thrashing if you think you can.

he uses his blade on road bike tires. in theory all you need is a blade in a slightly higher state of tune and some race rubber to have quite a big edge over him.

Its a shame its so soon after the TT and all the racer i know are broke. otherwise i'm sure one wouldnt mind playing dumb and giving him a thrashing Razz

Hmm yer, thinking about it he could "play" with any challenger, and "just about" beat them. This would give a false impression.

Just like those snooker crooks do, when they gamble for money...

Or he could use a mate to race him, he would win but in a slow time.
Challenger steps up, and gets whooped.

He could be an ex-racer/racer you never know...

OR you could sabotage his bike, so his engine blows or something, then you will definetly win Laughing .
Unplug a lead or two for the race....Then plug them back up after you win and razz home on a nice shiney blade Laughing

I think the best stratergy is to turn up on a dirt bike and agree to race him. have a friend throw a load of clout nails onto the track by the hairpin, and you go around on the grass Wink

There's a con there somewhere. Unless he's extremely fast there's going to be lots of track day riders willing to have a go.

Blade looks standard in the photo's, no modded suspendsion, standard brake lines, no rearsets.

Claud is probably right - chances are he's an racer/ex-racer, by taking other racers/ex-racers out of the equation than he's stacking the odds in his favour, BH is obviously his favourite track - it's just a plain and simple old fashioned hustle!

Either way, he's a tosser and therefore will also be a looser....

You have to be daft!!

He'll probably turn up with 30 chav mates, if you beat him, the first words out of his mouth are "Your a racer / ex racer".

Shame he doesn't want to go up against an ex-racer, I could do with a spare bike Wink
