I helped a friend to install such a device onto their dirtbike so that as soon as it senses a voltage from the rectifier it powers up.In your case you can connect it to the live feed from the ignition switch.

It is an interesting device that has quite a few differant functions. The engine temperature sensor was fitted onto the spark plug body and the rev counter onto the ignition lead. This was on a Honda XR250R which has no ignition switch or rev counter as standard.Several other friends now have them on bikes such as DRZ400 and WR450F dirtbikes.I have heard of them having misty displays if allowed to get too wet.

my Trail Tech is eating my battery alive
I installed it by connecting one of its power wires to the ignition switch and the other to the battery negative side
When I turn my ignition on the speedo light come on as well and when off light goef off
It was supposed to go on standby after 20 min but just stays like that with the light off
What its wrong?
