Ok, so I have finally found a bike that I really, really want rather than the "Bought for price/convenience" that I have always resorted to so far.
They look great and are surprisingly (maybe) comfortable to sit on but, before I get ahead of myself and book a test ride, etc., does anyone have any real world advice or experience?
Granted, at 180odd kilos, they're not the lightest SM on the planet but they're grunty, on paper at least, with 92bhp and 82Nm of torque.

So, any opinions? ____________________ Greetings from Shitsville! |

I considered one for many weeks before eventually going ktm. They do look the business.
In the end I just felt it was too much hypermoto (which in my eyes is anything over 150kg and with more than 1 cyl) and not enough super moto.
I want a hyper when i'm older. The 1200 dorso looks an absolute savage on paper. So may consider one day. ____________________ Chase my Witch up, Catch my Snitch up.

Book the test ride. If you like it, buy it, worry about regretting it later. ____________________ 2004 R1 & 2018 XSR900 |

Bought one new when they first came out, did about 7k miles on it.

Plus points-
Good looker
Awesome brakes
Decent suspension for this style
Minus points-
Tank range, had as little as 75 miles to reserve.
Tyres, was on my third rear
Seat, despite it being gel it was excrutiating after an hour
Fuelling was crap low down, believe you can get a different map if it hasn't had it already.
No way is it 92bhp, not at the rear wheel anyway, more like 75.
Build quality was good and it was 100% reliable. Mine had the arrows on as part of the deal, worth it cos the standard can weighs 15Kg!
First service at 500 miles needs a valve clearance check, if you get a new one make sure its part of the deal because you pay for it.
For me it was a bit dissapointing to live with, neither supermoto or road bike, got fed up of ragging the arse off it all the time.
Decent enough bike, 6 out of 10.
