I really like that, not sure if it will go with my bike/gear (Red Fazer but if they're totally different reds it'll look silly), will have to see.... Was looking at getting a new helmet for after the babies born and I can get back on the bike, my current one is boring me ____________________ What would you do in life, if you knew you could not fail?

Hmm, yeah, not so sure, thinking it looks more of an offroad or cruiser bike helmet ____________________ What would you do in life, if you knew you could not fail?

On what information did he base his opinion that it had been tested in the open versus the closed configuration?
This page and this one suggests that the Konda was homologated as full face, while the Duke (and Sintesi) passed in both open and closed configurations.
It takes virtually no effort to find this out, which tells you exactly how much effort he put into (not) doing so.

Oh, you want some too?
The Motor Cycles (Protective Helmets) Regulations 1998
MC(PH)R 1998 wrote: |
(3) In this regulation—
“protective headgear” means a helmet which—
(a) either—
(i) bears a marking applied by its manufacturer indicating compliance with the specifications contained in one of the British Standards (whether or not as modified by any amendment) mentioned in Schedule 2 to these Regulations; or
(ii) is of a type manufactured for use by persons on motor cycles which by virtue of its shape, material and construction could reasonably be expected to afford to the wearer a degree of protection from accidental injury similar to or greater than that provided by a helmet of a type prescribed by regulation 5;
(b) if worn with a chin cup attached to or held in position by a strap, is provided with an additional strap (to be fastened under the wearer’s jaw) for securing the helmet to the head; and
(c) is securely fastened to the head by means of straps provided for that purpose; and
“strap” includes any fastening device.

There is nothing in there, not one word, not a hint, about configurations, or conditional approval.
Even if there were, then under 3 (a) (ii), I would "reasonably expect" a flipped up helmet to offer "a degree of protection from accidental injury similar to or greater than that" of an approved open face helmet.
T.C agrees with this, as does one of White Dalton's solicitors who would quite like to be prosecuted for it to test the issue. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.
