I fear the only way Cal will stay at Yamaha next year will mean stitching Bradley up.
Yamaha are in a tricky position, because they can only run 4 prototype bikes. Clearly Lorenzo & Rossi are put for the meantime, so the only seats up for grabs are at Tech 3 (though possibly with a full factory bike). Sounds like they've all but signed Pol, and Bradley has a contract.
But with Cal showing himself (currently) to be second only to Lorenzo in performances, he's making himself very hard to sack (despite shouting his mouth off on a regular basis, something the fans may love but the Japs won't appreciate).
I think Yamaha will retain Cal and give him a factory bike (but still at Tech3) next year, alongside Pol.
And Bradley? My understanding is that Bradley has a contract with Tech 3, not with Yamaha. I could see Tech 3 scrapping the Mistral project, which has had virtually zero development since 2011, and instead building a CRT with a Yamaha engine. Tech 3 then become a 3 man team (maybe a 4 man team, with a second CRT).
Bradley's contract is honored, and Yamaha can still sign Pol and retain Cal, everyone's a winner. Except Bradders, who in reality would swap the third best bike on the grid for an untried CRT....
But hey, I'm just guessing.... |

The problem isn't the speed. It's the fact they'll need the spec ECU with custom software in 2014 so developing an ECU for 2013 isn't cost effective.
It may also have something to do with making 5 engines last, as well as only using 20L of fuel, which may take longer to accomplish. ____________________ Triumph Daytona 675 track bike + girlfriend's Honda Hornet 600
