Hi, I bought a 2007 BMW K1200r not 2 weeks ago and since then I've had an exploding fuel tank and a draining battery, however now I've got something else.

This morning I started it up fine and rode to the post office, when I tried starting it up there to bring it back I got nothing but a click, thinking it was the duff battery I bumped it and brought it back but upon checking the battery with a multimeter it proved to be fine, the clicking sound isn't like the normal "not enough charge" sound but sounds a bit softer and weaker.

Now when I try to start it all I get is an awful pathetic whining sound.

My guess is my starter's somehow fried even though it was fine yesterday. My friend suggests it could still be the duff battery although I fail to see how.

Any ideas on what this could be?
Cheers.
Fred

Have you tried charging the battery to see if that solves your problem?

I have tried it with a charged battery, still just gets the horrible whining sound, it sounds like something's stuck or something like that
