Applied for a job in a not particularly serious manner expecting not to get it but had fish in bigger pans frying.

Got asked to come for an interview, surprise 1

I poke around the corporate website, I'm looking at the staff profiles and uh oh, I spot in the staff profile somebody who I haven't seen from 2010. surprise 2

Back in 2010 we fell out but in a fake kind of way made up but shortly afterwards we parted ways and never spoke to each other again. I didn't expect to see him again ever.

So what do you think the odds are of getting this job? As this aside I have plenty of work experience, plenty of qualifications to support my application. I've grown since 2010 a fair bit.

Self doubt has been cast upon me though.

I'm partly wondering if I should even go now Confused and if I am wasting my time going..... esp as I am having to take a day off work to attend this.

personally id go,

you get the job based on your merits, unless of course you know that particular guy is going to be interviewing you?

even then most folks dont hold a grudge for 3 yrs

but if you think you cant work with him again, then that call is for you to make

Depends why you fell out. If I was in charge of employing somebody and I personally thought they were a first class cock, I wouldn't give them the job. It really does just depend on the level of animosity between you, surely. Also the guy might not have a say in your employment decision anyway. So then the main worry is just that you'll have to rub shoulders with him again.

I think you should tell us all why you fell out Pass the popcorn

Will this person be interviewing you or will you have to work with them closely?

Hmm guess I have an answer.

Job was withdrawn....

Anyway

I'll spill... he split up with his gf being a perfect gent I was right in there smashed her back doors in...... unfortunately they got back together again after a week.

Nah that is a lie.

It was a work thing, we both had a project and on the face of it, it looked like we'd copied each other sort of a Frank Whittle and Hans von Ohain situation.

Mud was slung until somebody actually sat down and looked at the projects. The conclusions were similar but how we got to these conclusions differed. But like chimpanzees poop had been slung from both sides.

He was leaving to work overseas anyway and after a few months the emails and contact sizzled out as neither of us bookface.

I suppose if it ever came to it, you would have note a conflict of interest and that fella would have to step right outa the way of any decisions.

I know with P&G, when I had a placement there, they wanted me to write names of people I know in companies P&G might ever do business with so I wouldn't be sent to talk to them about business deals etc. etc.

Bit stupid seeing as I was 20 and on a 1 year internship ...
