Yahmaha YBR125 - Side panel unlocks?

So, underneath the seat on the left hand side, he's found a locked panel. The ignition key fits it, but it doesn't come out at all, although it moves slightly and he is reluctant to force it in any way, in case he breaks something.

First off, what is behind the panel, is it important, and how do you get it off?

It still has to be popped off the other lugs, the lock is just a 2nd or third holding point.

Yup, just give it a good hard tug and it'll pop off.
