So I've had my bt23 on the rear of my street and done 4k on it. About 1000 were motorway miles. It's already down to the canvas and I was wondering if that's normal lifespan for these tyres? Pic included

'Particularly spirited' eh? Laughing

You weren't spinning the rear wheel under acceleration perchance?

I know its difficult not to do burnouts while stopped at traffic lights and checking yourself out in shop windows but you must resist.
I hope you don't do this to your new Pilot 3s which you WILL be fitting.

Have you check for its manufactured date? Most reason for obsessive wear of the tire is due to expiration, Over inflation or doing some stunt driving. But if you just use your bike as a normal commuter that tire wearing is not normal at all.

i dont commute on it, i hoon on it. considering the majority of those motorway miles were done at *breakneck* speeds on the continent. would that explain it, or low pressure?

If you hoon on it and don't check basic stuff like tyre pressures regularly... Shocked

Anyhoo. Aggressive riding wears tyres faster than normal riding.

I had a few sets of Angel st, didn't last that well. Gripped nice and had a pointy profile though.

Pr3 seems better from my short, recent experience with some and my bro raves about Pr2.

Damn Laughing I would check various parts of the bike are sorted, my GSXR750 wore through a brand new Dunlop Qualifier RR in 1700 miles, alignment was fairly out and pressures kept dropping, probably didn't seat on the rim correctly.

But yeah, I'd recommend getting something like PR3s Thumbs Up

I believe the accepted method (At least according to a number of internet videos) is clutch in, front brake on, full throttle, put all your weight on the bar, dump the clutch, get dragged about 10 yards, fall over, go pick up bike from whatever hedge/pool/shop window it landed in.
