Intensely variable.

For reference 2 nights in Nice cost me and lil about £350 for flights, hotel, and eating. Then you budget money for transport, shopping etc on top of that.

You can get cheap weekend breaks to paris, but you'll probably find yourself in a nasty fleabitten motel 20 miles from the centre. I think you can get eurostar return and hotel for about £100 per person.

There are much nicer parts of france than paris. Its a bit of an armpit.

Check for cheap deals on the Eurostar. If you were able to go for a couple of days midweek rather than at the weekend you could get a much better deal.

Heidelberg in Germany is really nice, only visited it for the day though so I've no idea if it's particularly expensive though.

we went to Paris for a weekend last year but I had enough airmiles for free flights

hotels are very expensive as is food, coffee, beer - everything really

Munich is a really nice city

you can probably get ther on Easyjet for 20 quid each way

you can sightsee all day and drink beer all night in the Kunstpark Wink

Of course, if we're taking about cheap fun cities rather than Paris then think of Eastern Europe. Places like Prague or Zagreb for example.

everything from quality of restaurant to size of rooms

it depends what you want really

we stayed in a 2* hotel in Paris and franky it was shit and very expensive

no eating facilities
a few cakes for breakfast in the lobby
tiny rooms
no a/c
no satellite TV

etc.

Does it have to be Paris?

Last time I went there the place was a tip.

Paris is obscenely expensive

we went on a cheap weekend and spent about 800 quid

mind you we did have Dinner at Le Fouqet's on the Champs Elysees and went to the show at the Crazy Horse Saloon (not recommended by the way - the girls wear minge wigs)

There's alot of City breaks in Metro at the moment including Paris, Brussles, Prague, and lts more. I think you may be able to find them on their website www.metro.co.uk or if you are in London just pic up a copy of the newpaper.

My g/f and I are about to book one. Probably Paris as it's the cheapest of the lot and I want to go on the Eurostar. Very Happy

I can personally recommend Venice... It's really lovely over there, the city is beautiful. Hopefully go back there sometime soon if I can! Smile

Yeah Venice is very nice. It does smell a bit around the canals and the pigeons occasionally attack, but generally it's a gorgeous place to visit.

As for price, I don't seem to remember because it was a good few years ago when I went. You can get cheap flights there on EasyJet or Ryan Air at least. I imagine accommodation would be expensive.

What's your budget RooRoo? Or would that be telling?

Think me and Susi paid about 350 each for flights/accomodation for a Friday-Tuesday long weekend.

Well, I say me and Susi, but it was more like I paid 700. Wink

Hehehe.

I'm off to Prague in March for a stag-do. Flights and digs are going to cost £90 for the weekend and it's 60p a pint.

Bring it on!

How about Dublin or somewhere in Ireland.

There's nothing nicer than having a stroll with the other half on your arm through the Irish Countryside, or Having a nice night out in Temple Bar In Dublin, you fall out of one bar/restaurant and your in the next. Laughing
