lubricant oil on front forks?

Sorry this may not need a rull thread.

but is it ok to use lubricant oil in a can that I use for my chain on the front suspension just to keep them smooth. Ive always been taught to just rub abit of vaseline on them but dont have any.

Stop being a knob, they are full of oil at the bottom, they get a little lube there. There is no need to lube the forks. Laughing

Litterally just been taught 1 wrong thing that ive always done hahaha. I know they have oil at the bottom obviously, but always just kept the forks abit lubed up ( not heavily or anything) , and no before you all say it......I didnt enjoy rubbing them big fork poles with vasaline..........much!

No don't use anything that can attack rubber.

If anything you can use pure silicone that will take off anything nasty and give it a bit of a lube but no need really just keep it clean.

For my mountain bike forks I use silicone every few rides that brings up any dirt from the seals and then you can wipe it off nicely.
