Effed up laptop screen.

As you look at the screen, about a third of it on the left side is buggered beyond repair, but the other 2 thirds are fine. Could anyone tell me, in idiot-speak, how to set the display so that I can see all of it in the good bit of the screen. I can't access the start menu.

If you right click the task bar then untick the "lock the taskbar" option.

Then you can drag the taskbar, along with the start button to the right hand side.

tbh you might be able to fart about with the resolution until you can see the start button, but it will look rubbish and be a PITA to work with.

If you have an ordinary monitor kicking about, you can connect it to the laptop and use it as your screen. Not as portable though.
