Hello people, I've spent the day putting all the best bits of the practice and race footage I took on our trip over during this year TT.. I've made one every year for the last 3 years now... I hope I've captured the magic... its quite long but no music... filmed all over the island... we ride about on pushbikes to see as much as we possibly can.. Hope you enjoy

Nice to see that you're prepared to move around the course and search out different vantage points. Over the years health and safety has restricted or prohibited many of the 'traditional' viewpoints but on a lap of 37+ miles there are still plenty of excellent places if you take the time to look for them. Nice vid, are you coming back next year?

I absolutely love the TT, the most amazing atmosphere! very much planning on coming over next year! ... Wouldn't mind coming over to watch the Man GP at the end of the summer too

How much would I be looking to spend all in to go see the TT? Would love to go and see it!!

Depends on what you want really. Not sure of all the prices myself, as I live here, so they don't concern me Razz

Camping would be your cheapest option. Then there's the homestay

And hotels would probably be the most expensive option, if you could get one.

As for getting here, it too depends on where yiu are travelling from and if you want to take your bike or not. Presuming that you do, you'll be stuck with the steampacket ferrys. They sail mainly from Liverpool and Heysham.

If not, you can fly. Easyjet fly from Liverpool and London and have the cheapest flights to the IOM.

Sorry that I can't give you a good idea of cost but, hopefully some of that info will give you a bit of help in working out costs yourself.

Oh....don't forget beer money, petrol money and lastly and least importantly, food money.

Not sure about the ferry costs as it varies according the the dates booked and port of departure from UK, ie Liverpool or Heysham. Fares are higher during TT fortnight, I believe Liverpool to Douglas return for a bike and rider was around £230 this year?
If you plan on coming next year you need to book the ferry NOW!

Camping at the Glenlough campsite as an example is £9 per person per night and £5 per night for electric hookup.

Factor in food and fuel costs and you should have a reasonable idea of the cost overall.
Remember that all the racing is free to watch Laughing

Kestrel is right about the prices for the ferry, a car is about £320 and a van is roughly £420. Adding a passenger with any vehicle is roughly £80-100. The campsite I use was £7 pppn which had onsite showers, cooking and washing machines should you need to do some laundry. I booked up on the 28th May for next year and most of the reservations for a van (which is what im travelling in) were already taken, but I have in the past been able to book it for a bike as late as Febuary.

yes its not the cheapest motorcycle related trip but its worth every penny.... this year was the third trip for us... each time we have traveled over as foot passengers- around 80quid each return.. and taken push bikes with us - which is free.... by far the cheapest way to do a TT visit
