After my little scare, I have decided that i need better bikewear, because if i hadve come off i would be dead. So on the day I go to collect my bike (after repairs) I will be buying boots and bottoms.

SIDI Vertebra Race ( see attachment ) are the boots I like, can anyone tell me if these are ok and have everything I need? because I dont want to be at risk again.

Also, would I be ok getting man made bottoms? I dont really like leathers, but If im more at risk then I will take that comprimise.

I like these boots, took no time at all to wear in and feel like gloves now. Very, very comfortable. Protection seems pretty good to me, and not lost a foot yet.
As to the man made bottoms, check out the Taureg range at Heinegericke (or whatever replaced them, bought mine a while back), I've had mine quite a while and they've lasted well and been most handy on at least two crashes. Just remember though, you only ever get what you pay for Wink

i consider SIDI some of the best boots you can buy, im sure a lot of you share this opinion from the looks of how many people are wearing them

but they do cost an arm and a leg, especially the race ones, id go out and buy some tomorrow if that strip wasnt shiny silver Sick

The only thing I would say was that those boots don't have a calf adjustment like the vertebra 2 boots. Which may or may not be a problem to you.

Going to get my boots when I collect my bike, ive tried on the ones in the picture and i do like them, bit expensive at £200 but, needs must i guess.

They say I need new pistons and rings, can anyone give me an idea how long thats likely to take?

Shouldn't take long labour wise. You'll spend more time waiting for the parts to come in than you will in waiting for them to rebuild it. If they're not busy they could rebuild it the same day the parts come in.
