I have the Shoei Qwest, it has a wide visor aperture and can be bough for less than £250 easily.

My last helmet was a Shoei, wrote this on another forum -
Nexx Carbon XR1r review
Since coming back to the Ducati fold (999) the biggest problem I've had is with vision. In a normal riding position I could see about 50% road and 50% upper edge of the helmet, time for a new one methinks.
I have a 'Shoei' head, that is what the current helmet is, used them for years because they fit me well, are well made and are not intrusive when riding, all qualities a new helmet must meet plus better vision.
My mate had just got a Nexx and when the helmets were sat on the table outside the pub the apeture size was much bigger on his. Couldn't try his on as he is a pea head and i'm a panda head so went to the shop and tried one, XL.
Suprisingly it seemed to fit well so coin was parted with and home we went.
Build and appearance-
seems very well finished, quality lining (removable) nice paint and good vent and visor fittings, the carbon looks trick. The visor comes with pinlock and an insert that fits closely to the edges of it. Strap is standard D rings.
Fit and wearing-
Fits me nicely, no pressure points but snug. You get a selection of pads that can be fitted behind the lining to customise the fit. I didn't need to use any though. Under the chin it has a sort of pelmet that stops wind coming in from the bottom and keeps the inside of the helmet free from turbulence. The other big noticeable difference is weight, man is it light, the nearest thing I've worn to not having a helmet on.
Vision when riding is in a different league to the Shoei, both up and down and peripheral. Its very stable with no buffeting and just 'feels' better because it's so light. Wind noise I would say was slightly worse than the Shoei but I wear plugs all the time anyway. The vents actually work and direct air across your fore head, somehow missing your eyes.
All in all I am pretty happy with it, yet to try it in the wet but think it will be ok. Cost was £299.

Thanks for the write up
For £299 I reckon it'll be worth a bash, only issue I have is that nowhere near me stocks them, so can't try the fit first (usually a big no no for me) but as there are extra pads to get a custom fit it could be a go-er.
