sold my old bantam for £300 but it was more of a rolling chasis with half an engine and 90% of the parts there minus the head. ____________________ GOOD GAME BODYGUARD: https://i.imgur.com/8WePGgf.jpg

I wouldn't take them on mate unless you have the time, patience and a pot of cash to spend on each one. if you think you could have a thing for Honda C70's and Bantam's then fair enough. Or even if you could convince yourself that you had a really good need/use for them once done.
But as said most people will either take on a project or two and end up surrounded by bits doing nothing for years, or else sell it all on as junk/unfinished projects.
You could part out both bikes, strip and clean all the parts and photo everything then sell it all as bits on Ebay. If you have the time and dedication for this then you might make a few quid.
Most folk buy into a project for something to do, or they think it will be a great way to spend their free time. The few that do re-build and restore them and get them going again, probably get attached to them and end up with 2shiney old bikes that they didn't need, and wont ride much, but can't sell without a massive loss.
if your looking for a project, get yourself something you really want to do up or own, as it might just keep you interested enough to see it though then. Instead of XYZ bike that a bloke offer's you down the pub for a few quid that he just wants shot of, and probably knows it will never run again, or will cost ££££'s to fix, as he'd have done it himself if it was easy or worth fixing for the sake of a few quid.
I personally would always go for a trail/off roader as a project bike if I had a road bike or 2 already. Lots of people fancy a cheap and easy to restore old dirt bike, and it's a nice change from a road bike. |

Looks like it's not going ahead, the person that was selling them has been told he can't sell them on
Anyway, I got to see the Bantam today, I was told it was in bits, I didn't realise quite as many bits though, and even at that, engine internals have been left to rot and are covered in rust etc. (brave fucker to take that one on), from what I could find out it was from the 50's going by the registration format, and it looks as if it has been in bits since the 70's |
