Usually have to wait ages for your turn.

Straightliners used to have much shorter queues.

Also, note that the 'proper' surface at santapod is often less grippy than a runway or similar others run on.

(See bendy getting her CB500 at 90 degrees to the direction of travel!)

Queues are usually pretty long. They run all bikes, then all cars. It's the cars that take the time.

IME it's more grippy than a normal surface in the dry.

Me Angelgrinder, and Bofh went ages ago. It's ok for £35, a good way to spend some time if the weather's good.

Go to one of the other straightliner events.

I've never had more than four vehicles in front of me at the Kirkbride one for example. You get the oppertunity to just keep doing runs until either you or your bike has had enough.

I should point out that when I did a straight liners event the queue was never more than 15 bikes, even if you had to be careful on wheel spin until the rear tyre had some proper heat. (No burnouts for me, I'm poor.)

Only ever done it in cars, I have an B11 3.5 Alpina 7 series about 250BHP.

I was only going to a 7 series meeting being held there and they'd organised 3 runs if you wanted them.

The old girl ran 14.43 best not bad for a twenty year old bus.

I actually found it more of a laugh and fun than you'd think especially when your mates alongside in a 750 V12 and you burn em!

Quite addictive.

I go to Santa Pod when the VeeDubbers are there, been up there once already this year, will be back there late August. I love it, haven't raced the strip myself, but will happily sit on the bank watching all the others from dawn to late into the night. Night-time racing is freaky, its particularly excellent when they bring out the Rocket car. Mr. Green Thumbs Up
