DO NOT swim in the reservoirs in Knowsley. They have big outlets that can suck you under.

as far as I'm aware, you can.

Stay well away (we're talking a mile or so) from the dam wall as already said, big inlets that can and will suck you through.

Watch out for algae blooms. They can mess up your day pretty badly. Bewl Water suffers from them.

It's perfect conditions for Blue-Green Algae to bloom. To the eye it will look like powder floating on the surface.
It can make you feel really ill or kill you. Same goes for any animal that enters the water, so keep your dogs away too.

An outlet to a stream/river/storm drain (think terminator2). The reason I know about the algae problem at Bewl Water is that I had to cut about 4 foot off the top of one of those giant plugholes there as it had weathered/eroded badly.
