Hello,

I have been struggling with my SYM 125 again. As some of you may remember I did put a cone filter on it which made the engine lean so swapped it back

The reason I did it was that the airbox was cracked . It is fu*king cheap and nasty. I took it off, plastic solder it which was tight and then put glue on it from top.
All was ok until while ago that my engine started to rev all of sudden or once reved the rev would stay high 3-4k for a while before it is dropped back down .
Anyway after checking it, I realised that the box is cracked again.

Before it was cracked, I spent almost half day playing with the fuel mixture screw so that once the throttle is bleeped it does not switch off but couldn't fix it so just gave up. now it is even worse, I can feel the engine is very weak and when reved it makes a very bad noise

So my view is I should just put the cone filter back in and rejet my carb. I think my exhust would be fine so no mods needed, am I miscalculating this ?

I don't want to buy a new box as it will be sh*t again so going with above, how hard do you reckon would be to rejet and configure it ?

Also, is crack on the airbox seen as airleak ? I am asking because I thought air leak is anything past manifold where in my case it is on the air box. what could be the impact of cracked box ?

Many thanks as always
