I am running Michelin AC10 rear with Enduro Comp 3 on the front, this is on my TTR250, I'm not the most gentle rider on my tyres, but I found them a great compromise on and offroad, however I got 900 miles, about 50/50 riding, before they were no good offroad. I would like to get some spare wheels with knobs on and then keep something like the Pirelli MT90's on the bike at all times, this isn't viable at the moment though.
I would like some tyres that work just as well in the mus as on the tarmac but last longer than what's there at the moment, there are no knobs on most of the front and about 5mm tall knobs left on the back.
Does a tyre like this exist?
I have done research but can't find one that meets my criteria, please help.
Adam.

The better the tire is in mud etc the worse it wears on road! 900 miles sounds pretty good if your happy with your current tires. Trials type block patten tires work well on and off road but hate mud and clog up what your using is already a good compromise.

I think they are fine but it's my daily ride as well, I can't afford to replace tyres every thousand miles or so. There is still life left in them after about 1000 miles but no offroad life, just another couple of hundred road miles most.

I had some trials tyres on my MT50, which is about a tenth of the power of my TTR, but they lasted me 5000 miles mixed riding and plus whatever my mate had on them when he owned the bike before me. But like you say It turns mud into a slog, I end up normally walking the bike in first gear before going for a wee on it to cool it down, doesn't smell nice.
I think something a bit more road orientated is in order, but not too much as my commute is 10 miles on the road in the morning and about 15 miles green laning in the evening.

I have looked into those Mitas tyres and seem like just the thing.
Where do you get your tyres from? The local shop? An internet thing? Again, just wondering as I am a lowly student so would like to find a nice cheap place for tyres, don't we all?
