Well is it just me or do all bikers have there favourite tyres, ones we like or ones we hanker after etc?

For me its gotta be the Bridgestone Battleaxe BT45's, They grip in the wet, dry and just generally last really really long.
I got 12,000 Miles from a Rear, and 14,000 from the front.

I dunno what tyres I'm gonna put on the ZZR when they need replacing, I wonder if they do BT45's to fit it?

Anyway whats your fave make/type of tyre(s)?

mice are Bridgestone TW 41 / 42's for my kmx, they do quite well off road and have more grip on tarmac than the standard ones.

Well I went from bridgestone to bridgestone on the NSR. They were very good all round!

The GSXR400 came with month old Pirelli Dragons. They're absolutely amazing in the dry but I have serious doubts about wet riding. But because they're so soft, the rear tyre is pretty much down to a millimetre in tread down the centre. I used it for a couple of weeks for work. Bad idea. I'll probably put bridgestones back on after the summer for the upcoming winter.

The standard D207's weren't particularily nice, I never trusted them and it always felt slippy when cornering for some reason.

Now have Pirrelli dragons on and love them! Only done 100 miles on them and almost now got my left knee down (could barely even lean to the left before! let alone KD amount of lean!)

The dragons have been used for about 40 of that 100 miles in rain/terrential rain and haven't really had any worry yet. They seem alright to me.

I haven't pushed it too much on them yet as still running in, but can't wait to hit some decent twisties Mr. Green

Fitted Avon azaro sp pro extreme to my R1 as I heard good things about them and they were a fair bit cheaper than other makes.
They are excellent and offer good grip in both the wet and dry. They are, however, pretty soft. I only got 1900 miles before having to replace the rear.

Well worth a go if you are willing to try something different.

Well I have Pirelli's right now, but I can't really compare them because:

1. My tyres aren't roadworthy.
2. I've never tried anything else.

Hi

Varies. Do quite like the BT45s on the bikes they fit (the BT45 is a cross ply, and is one of the best tyres available for older bikes with fairly narrow rims). Generally never that keen on Dunlops and generally get on quite well with Avons and Michelins.

All the best

Keith

I have pirelli Diablo Corsas, and despite the fact that they are not scrubbed in, they already have given me more confidence than the Bridgestone BT010's that I had before! It might be because the Bridgestones were square as anything though! Smile

I am trying Conti sports at the moment as the D220's wore out (why do they do that?) They wobble a bit over 120 but corner stability and grip is better than the Dunlops. As for wear well i will let you know Smile

Have only had 010's on my hornet up until i got an 020 to save on money for tyres in the long run, bike brole before i could properly run them in.

Was happy with the handling in the dry and wet of the 010, dont like how they lasted 1500 miles.

dunop 208's on big bikes were decent, but mostly ive had small bikes
