Michelin M45

Hi
How are these tyres, I need a new rear but they are vee rubber and a bit dodgy in the wet, the pilots and street from michelin are around £100 fitted to loose wheels whearas the M45 are about £50 to buy and £20 to fit, I only got around 5-6k on the pilot sportys when on the YBR, any one have experience with the M45 grip and longevity?.

Good enough for knee down on a c90 and decent in the wet.

Don't last that long though. Less than 5k, for sure.

Look at Metzeler ME22's also.

Got 'em on the Super-Dreams. I would suggest they are probably one of the BEST tyre you can fit to a lightweight.
They have very inspiring grip, wet, dry, snow, gravel even, and are very predictable. I cant fault them.
I regularly deck the pegs on the Dream in the dry.... done it a couple of times inadvertently in the damp! I didn't actually try in the snow, I have to admit... but I had a play, and was not instantly dumped on my arse!
Hard braking? Well, the S-D has grippy twin-piston disc up front and braided lines; the M45's have enough grip I can get the back end hanging in the air, without the front loosing.
I think that the extra dry grip of a 'sporty' is likely to be utterly wasted on most 125's, even the pseudo-sporty ones, let alone a humble four-stroke commuter! While the large-land tread pattern offered to get stability from the tyre with such soft compound, is likely to compromise wet weather grip as well as tyre life.

I'd say the M45's were a top choice for a CG, or any other four-stroke 125 for that matter. Highly rated as good all-round compromise, high value for momey bit of rubber.

They ent 'cheap' cheap, but they seem to last well. Better than either soft sporties or cheap India-Rubber stuff, so all-round do work out better ecconomy while still delivering the performance. Win-win in my book.
