We had a bypass put in a few years back that's 70mph and explicitly signed with motorway restrictions.

And we still get cyclopaths wobbling up it, on the 6" strip between the left hand boundary line and the pebble verge. Doh!

Yup!

Can cycle on it right up until it becomes the A102 (Blackwall Tunnel Approach), then you get the restrictions for pedestrians and cyclists).

I wouldn't!

I broke down around there once. Horrible!

Motorways are the only blanket exception.

You can cycle on any other road that does not specifically exclude cyclists.

As far as I am aware you're well within rights to walk along a dual carriageway. Straight up, waltz down the middle. Jaywalking isn't a thing in the UK.

Do report back if you succeed.

Percy pig will do you for obstructing the public highway. They are trying to charge me with that for stopping and surfing a car bonnet Laughing

I was arrested for that on my 19th birthday after I fell asleep in the road. Good times...

The other day I saw some lunatic cycling up Aspen Way towards the East India Dock over/underpass, mad bastard. He must have come out of the Limehouse Link (or possibly from Canary Wharf). Fuck that for a laugh.

Can you not go in the Blackwall Tunnel, then? (not that you'd *want* to...) My fella cycled in the Rotherhithe Tunnel for a few weeks - till the fumes got the better of him - but eventually he decided to come home another way.
