Hi, I want to change all the pads in my Bandit 600 as they are a little low so figure I may as well do them before the MOT.
However, I have never changed the pads before so am a little overwhelmed by the different options despite reading up on the subject, leaving me feeling rather confused.

Basically I mostly use the bike for commuting and traveling around with the occasional weekend blast, so am looking for durable pads that will work in all weather without compromising on stopping power (if pads that cover all this exist!).

Am I right in thinking that despite HH pads in the front providing the best stopping power, that you need to be riding quite hard to warm them up to their optimum temperature and also they potentially wear down disks much quicker?

If this is the case, what would be a better option for the front calipers?

Also, what should I get for the rear, just any sort of GG pad?

Suggestions would be greatly appreciated, cheers.

Sintered for the front.

I quite like Ferodo SinterGrip pads at the moment.

Standard organic ( black ) pads for the rear!

Exactly this.

I put SBS Street Excel Sintered pads on the ZX7R. Good feel through the lever, minimal fade and good from cold.

I have a potentially stupid question:

Are the pads caliper specific ie. I need the specific ones for my bike's calipers or are they more generic, in that I can buy any?

They have to be for your make, model and year.

Some manufacturers will use the same calliper over several different models but there is no garauntee of that.

I also like sintered pads on the front, mainly because they are unaffected by water on the discs.
