Flat battery

Had a flat (ish) battery when I went to start the bike this afternoon. Some vague signs of life (neutral light, vague glow from headlights), but not much.

Got a jump start from a work colleague and it fired first time, stayed good all the way home. So, no immediate panic, no hanging around for the AA.

It's been warm weather today, but I've seen no signs of any battery problems before now. Shouldn't be anything drawing significant current from the battery.

Is this a sign my battery may be on its way out? Is there anything I could/should check around the charging circuits? Or is this just one of those things that happens sometimes

It's probably just one of those things, but it's worth checking that the connections are tight and you could also check the charging circuit with a meter by testing across the battery at tickover (12-13v) and at around 4-5k (14v ish).
