Reliant Robin with a Provisional ?

Hey guys just a quick question, I know with a full bike licence I would be able to drive a reliant robin (them bad ass three wheel cars) without a car licence. What about on a provisional licence with a CBT, is it technically possible??

afaik it is. Although modifications have to be made to the gearbox.

Don't hold me to my word but I remember being told once that you must have the top gear blocked out and also reverse gear!!....

I know it would look silly pushing it backwards. And you'd be mighty fucked on a hill.

Their is a great reliant robin round here, bright red with ferrari badges

I'm almost positve that Reliant also make a four wheeled version of the Robin that you can drive on a motorbike licence though I'm not 100% sure. I'll look into it and let you know.

looking at it, a 2 wheeled vehical so long as it weights < 550kg unlaiden. such as a robin or a trike, can be ridden on a full car licence.

It has to be a vehicle not exceeding 125cc or 14bhp to be on a bike provisional.

To be on a full bike license without a car licence it used to be that you had to buy a model wothout a reverse gear.

I think the law may have changed since my dad was younger... thats where I got this info.

I sincerely doubt that you can drive a three wheeler on a bike license any more.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

You can drive any 3 wheeled vehicle you like on a full motorcycle licence even if it has reverse but you cannot drive a robin on a provisional licence on your own.

I thought that the law had changed recently too, something along the lines of that you have to have had the license before a certain date.

Isn't it a bit of a moot point.... why would anyone want to drive one of the most hateful vehicles ever designed?

I have it on good authority that they don't stop or go round corners. Two things which I find quite useful in day-to-day driving.

I want one. It needs to have a 'phat' bodykit, some blingin ICE and go fasta stripes.

Then uprated brakes and suspension and either a massive yank V8 or 2 busa engines in the back.
