https://www.motorcyclenews.com/MCN/sport/sportresults/MotoGP/2013/July/jul1013-No-factory-Yamaha-future-for-Cal-Crutchlow/

Tech 3 have signed Pol and Smith for 2014, Yamaha with Rossi and Jorge.

Looks like it's going to be the Factory Ducati seat then? If Redding doesn't get it - I reckon he'll end up on a production RCV.

Tbh the big H should just fuck Bautista off and give that seat to either. Bradl hasn't exactly done wonders either - That is a factory bike.

Silly season I know...

I don't really understand this I think he is one of the best riders out there. Teams should be knocking his door down.

Tech 3 haven't signed Asparagus, Yamaha have and plonked him on a Tech 3 bike. Its not Herve's call.

Thing is in his situation could you blame him for hopping on a factory duke, picking up a fat pay cheque, and hopefully getting a bike that will improve with Audi's backing?

What other choice does he have?

1 year Duke contract with options and get on the Suzuki if there's no improvement.

my opinion for what its worth, is that Cal is 'demanding' too much cash to ride to try and force a full factory ride, however it would appear it may have caught him out. He still has Ducati and Honda in talks, I think he should try and take Stoners shoes and prove Ducati can be ridden by a real rider, after all, whats JH done for them this year, Dovi made him look daft as well right?

According to press reports Ducati have told Hayden he doesn't have a Moto GP seat next year and only has the option to move sideways onto the Panigale in WSBK. So the slots there now, surely just waiting for Cal?!

I've no doubt that when Yamaha tell Poncheral to jump he has to ask how high ?. Espargaro can I expect bring loads of spic sponsorship to 'oil the wheels' whereas Crutch brings nothing but goodwill, buckets of enthusiasm and talent but phuk-all else.

I hope Crutch gets the job and I know that it would be unlikely but wouldn't it be appropriate if he gave Yamaha a hard time and shit all over them ?.

There's talk of Johnny Rea to PBM on a customer RCV.

Also talk of Crutchlow with a prototype Honda through LCR...

Really hope something arises for cal that means he can forget about ducati. He has come leaps and bounds past 2 seasons and jumping on a ducati would stop that completely I feel. But if it's that or nothing then you can't blame the man.

Bridle and Battyboy haven't done enough to justify their prototype rides imho. If Cal can't get factory Yamaha support (and there is probably no space for him in Tech 3 anyway) then that is the option I would choose. Ducati would be career suicide and after they messed him, and Redding, about last year I for one would be pleased to see him string them along and then say 'sorry guys, I'm taking a Honda ride instead'.

I'd like to think Cal's late braking, animated style would work on the Honda too. Brembo published some braking data last week and Cal was always in the top 5 latest brakers. He's said before that he's tried to ride the M1 like JLo and has crashed - it suits a super smooth rider and neither Cal nor Vale are perfect for it.

In other news, I think Cal is a good e/w shout for Laguna with JLo and DP not 100% and MM never having been there before Cool

Ducati are under different management from the people that messed him about last year, that could mean a move is more likely.

If cal can get a ride alongside bradl or in place of I think that's the best option as u mentioned. Bradl is a good rider but his DNF record this year is awful.

Hate to be a downer but on the tech 3 yam if Lorenzo or pedrosa race I don't think he has a chance of a win. We've all seen what the robot can do with a broken collarbone. On the LCR which I'm led to believe is virtually a factory honda? I think he can win races.

On a side. Would love to see Johnny Rea in GP with PBM next year!!

If Cal wasn't such a Spastic at starts he could win a race with JLo and Dani in contention.

Everytime, Qualifies on the front row, 5th by the first corner.

He loses so much time working his way through the likes of Rossi Bradl and Marquez.

I can understand him wanting the ducati move as he would get about 10x the money he earns at Tech 3 (that ain't an exaggeration either) Cal may get the Duc to work, Stoner did, but TBH aside from being a whining little bitch Stoner was/is the best rider out there IMO, Cals good but not that good.

And Vale should be perfect on that M1 he built the bloody thing. I heard Lorenzo is shit at developing the bikes and was still using Rossi's dev work.

Trolololololol.

There have been a lot of changes to that M1 since Vale's time.

Stoner only won a single title on the ducati when it was an 800, then crashed it a lot. Nobody is going to magically find the 'secret' of riding one or win anything on it, even if Stoner came back to moto gp.

Fuck the Ducati, geto on one of the Hondas Smile

He has a different fuel tank to the factory M1s; once the weight distribution changes to a more favourable balance, after 8 laps, he is quick again (hence him hunting down Marquez at Sausagering, ditto Dani at Le Mans, same at Mugello too)

Agreed, but he is getting better at passing people now.

Sauce required. It has changed considerably; if it hadn't he would be consistently quick.

They said that they had fixed the handling issue for the Sachsenring GP though, and he still screwed the start up

They only used about 20l of fuel at Sachsenring because it is shorter and they were actually dialling out power. Less fuel = less of a problem.
