Quite amusing afternoon.

Was coming back into Bristol from weston supermare today, huge traffic queue near the end of the motorway coming into the centre. I was filtering along merrily at a slow pace. Begin to see a huge open expanse of road ahead of the front vehicles so wonder whats going on and begin to slow down a bit.

Get to the front.

Right in the middle of all the lanes, perfectly centre, running down parallel to all the cars i see...

Took about 15 minutes for it to slowly run to the end of the motorway before it joined a carriageway as everyone was too afraid to stop their cars and attempt to run on ahead to get it. It then ran off into a field near the end, hopefully its alright Rolling Eyes More intrigued as to how it got on the motorway in the first place...

Like to see that matched for comedy value Laughing

I once saw the magic roundabout in Hemel brought to a halt by a duck crossing the road with half a dozen ducklings following behind.

Got held up by a bloke running after a swan the other day, literally running up to it then running away from it as it went for him hahaha, it stood a good 5.5 foot tall as well. A quick big rev as I went past and the thing legged it Very Happy

I was once stopped by a push button crossing turning red with no one in view,

Then a sheep wanders across it and into the community centre,

light goes green, I drive off.

I drove onto the A3 years ago and a HUGE horse was running the wrong way down the slip road towards me. Needless to say I shat my pants.

I almost hit a chav on the way home. Saw him running along the pavement and paid him no mind, until he ran out into the road and almost into me.

A few years ago I walked out of my back gate only to jump back into the garden as a team of six horses galloped past on the foot path! Shocked Turns out they had escaped from the local riding school. Rolling Eyes

PostPosted: 00:52 - 11 Jul 2013    Post subject: wasp sting Reply with quote

On my commute to work today I was stung in the throat by a wasp.

Lifted right hand off throttle (without prior obs behind!) to attempt to squash suspect.

When I pulled to side of road to take off lid and open jacket, wasp fell onto pavement then flew off before my boot could exact revenge. (FAIL)

Sting barely noticeable a few hours later. Makes me wonder why I always had a bit of a phobia of wasps.

Reminds me of last year a bumble bee entering my '2 fingers visor crack' and me managing to stop and let it out before any harm done.

Nope, 'twas also a wasp last year, I just got away unscathed that time. Bumble bee in helmet must be LOUD! Anyone had that happen?

Worst ones are those massive round black and yellow bees, been hit in the neck at 80 by one of those and it's like hitting a stone! Worst part was I watched it all the way into my neck.

There's a road in St Helens that has a pond on either side, VERY often it is held up by swans crossing from one to the other Laughing
