Just to point out, the HPI check just is checking to see if the bike is stolen, if it has outstanding finance on it, or it has been written off.

They do not come and check the bike over for you which is what the AA/ RAC car checks are normally doing, to make sure the car is in good mechanical condition and all that. Don't think this is available for bikes from anywhere, but if you pay a small garage I'm sure they'll happily have one of their mechanics come and check stuff over for you, but you still need to check stuff yourself and be happy with it.
