I need (and WANT) to buy new tyres for my TZR250.

Now as you might know, them wheels aint not very wide on that bike.
What is the best grip (legal) tyres to buy (da hell with the price)

Kinda mental thing ya know? Knowing I got the best pair of tekkies money can buy, will take away that doubts when dicing into a bend round chappies.

Please ma bra's.....if you r not sure, just watch the post and don't reply will ya?

And what you just said in English please? Razz

As for tyres (well I think thats what your on about?)

Something like a Bridgestone BT010 would go well on a TZR, nice and grippy but they dont last that long.

Best to use Proper English on here, cos I think most of us hate it and it takes alot longer to read!

Having never used Pirelli Tyres, I can't comment on them, But I have used Bridgestones, and I know the 010 is a great tyre.

People on here would also recommend Diablo Corsa or D208's but whether you'd get a set for a TZR250 I don't know. Confused.

Well there is this new brand called Pirelli that make Pirelli quality tyres. You could always check them out. Wink

Strange that huh?

Bridgestone 010's may be good on your ZZR craig however they may not be so good on a small 250. Same as the corsa's and 208's etc.

The bike just won't have the weight or power to get the tyre's up to temperature properly (even if you can get the required tyre size).

I would go with Laura's suggestion out of those given here, but I have VERY little experience of tyres for smaller bikes.

Arg! You guys drives me nuts now......Kidding!

Just getting more confused.... Anyone knows of a good article / site on the web where I can read all about tyres and this stuff you are talking about.

ps.
Keep in mind, I'm gonna have that little bitch fast enough to do some really stupid stuff on it (AFTER the tyres are figured out)

Sorry mate, but I thought I had to say something as I know some of the tyres suggested work well on bigger heavier bikes and as such probably ain't suitable for smaller ones.

Not underminding anyones advice etc, but you have to be careful as some people will give advice on things they have no real knowledge on.

Wait for G, M1ke, goose or Kickstart's suggestion at least, as I know one of these will have a reasonable understanding as what tyre goes well for this type of size bike.
As I said above, Laura's suggestion is the one I would go with out of the above as I know she has some experience with a 250 bike.

No problems dude.

That "bike" on your little pic...called a pocket bike right?

Never seen one of those down (up for you?) here. Geez, now that would be a awesome set of wheels! That yours?

Thanx for the advice...no worries mate...really appreciate critic like that.....don't want to lie there in the grass with some more broken ribs and the bike in a tree thinking "Aaaah....should have taken the other tyre" hey?

In america etc known as pocket bikes yeah. We call them minimoto's though.

That one in my picture is G's I do own one though.

Couple of links to a few of us from here messing about on them:

https://www.okas.co.uk/~hex/video/thongmoto.mpg

Yeah you really want some tyres that work well for the bike size etc. I mean I do run 010's on my CBR and they are good tyres but I seriously doubt they would work on a 250.

Take it easy.

I run gpr 70's on my 600 and also had hem on my half built rgv.

But I have a friend who races rgv 250's and will not have any other tyre on his bike.

090's and GPR70 are good tyres, but whether they will fit that bike or not, considering skinny wheel sizes

you may be looking at old cross ply of which i only know one decent one, Bridgestone BT45

keith would be the man to suggest stuff as he has lots of small capacity bikes ...

Get ones that are designed for sub 400cc bikes. So many people put rubber on small bikes that isn't designed for the low power out put.

I've got Dunlop GPR70's on my 125 and they have more than enough grip to get the pegs down.

Go by the speed rating. Without getting off my arse and checking my bike i can't say what is rated to what speed, but you want a tyre with a max rating of 140mph, if that.

Hi

Not really sure. I have BT45s on quite a few bikes, but not on any of the 125s. Suspect they would work quite well, but the TZR might be a bit light for them.

All the best

Keith
