Hi all
My 07 CG is juct clicking once when I try to start it, the lights dim as well, it will bump fine, am I looking at sticky stater motor or new battery, I believe its the original sealed thats in there now.
This is the same as my problem just one click.

Some Honda CG125 electric starter motors have failed (they just go click and do not turn over the engine even though battery is fine),
I believe they fail due to black dust building up inside, all you have to do is remove the starter motor and clean its insides.

thanks
Mark

I've had two honda 125 starter motors fail on me but i would start with the easy stuff first, check battery voltage and charge it up. Could also be a duff battery not holding its charge. Check for any corrosion and tightness of the wires going from the battery to the starter although with yours being the newest of the CG's, I wouldn't expect it to be this.

It also possible for the brushes to seize, which can be sorted by hitting the starter motor with something while pressing the button.

I would assume the solenoid is fine as your at least getting a click from it.

Woot, sorted the top brush was stuck in, wiggled it and it popped out, plenty left on it. Its been fixed before as it has some auto electrical sticker on it, not sure if it was supposed to have giant o rings at each end of the cylinder or if there ever was?.
Any way started fine and dandy. Very Happy
