I worked it out as 46.something mpg. My workings *may* have been dodgy though Wink

Now now John.

10 litres multiplied by 0.22 = 2.2 gallons.

105 miles divided by 2.2 gallons = 47.73 miles per gallon.

There are 4.54609188 litres per imperial gallon, so that works out as 2.19969 (and then lots more decimal places) gallons. So that works out as 47.73396(and then lots more decimal places) miles per gallon.

To work out how many litres there are in a gallon, I just used Google calculator. Go to Google and just type in a question like "How many litres in a gallon?" and it comes back with the answer. remember that there is the imperial gallon and the US gallon and they are different amount, but it did pick up on it when I called it the british gallon. PS: When I wrote 46.something earlier, I had actually quit calculator and forgot what it was Laughing

Hi

As there are 4.54L (OK, to a few less decimal places than Ste quoted) it works out that if litres used * 10 = miles done then you are doing 45.4mpg.

All the best

Keith

There you go. Thumbs Up which can be easily remember using Keith's 4.54 number which for 99.9% of usage will be fine to use.
