If I go 105 miles on 10 litres of fuel, what's my exact mpg?
Thanks. ____________________ TT600 neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeowwww! |

I worked it out as 46.something mpg. My workings *may* have been dodgy though |

There are 4.54609188 litres per imperial gallon, so that works out as 2.19969 (and then lots more decimal places) gallons. So that works out as 47.73396(and then lots more decimal places) miles per gallon.
To work out how many litres there are in a gallon, I just used Google calculator. Go to Google and just type in a question like "How many litres in a gallon?" and it comes back with the answer. remember that there is the imperial gallon and the US gallon and they are different amount, but it did pick up on it when I called it the british gallon. |

Wow this is like Countdown
I did... 105 / (10/4.5)
= 47.25mpg
PS: When I wrote 46.something earlier, I had actually quit calculator and forgot what it was |

10.5 miles per litre thats easier then working out galons... After all you dont buy fuel in galons.
