Hi people this is my first ever post on a bike forum, how we all doing??

just a quick question, ive got a Yamaha YBR-125 for sale, its got a full years MOT as of yesterday(19/7/13) and Taxed until the end of June next year, the thing is i cant for the life of find my logbook for it, i have everything else and i dont know why the logbook isnt there, would this affect me selling the bike? its a cracking wee bike and have a genuine reason for sale!

Any answers would be appreciated.

You can sell it without the log book. You CAN, doesn't mean you'll be able to. It would put me off buying a bike if it didn't come with a log book. Just write the buyer a receipt of purchase as the log book is not proof of ownership.

It'll put some people off, but it's not illegal. Just remember that it's YOU who is responsible for registering the change of ownership so if the new owner doesn't apply for a V5 you'll be the one that receives any nasty letters. If you get a NIP how are you going to identify the driver when you don't own the bike?
